The fifth series is called Petali di stelle per Sailor Moon. (Petals of Stars for Sailor Moon)
 
At the very begining of the stars series, the Three Lights transformed into girl when becoming senshi. But half way through the series they changed it so they where replaced by their "identical twin sisters".
The reason: a psychologist named Vera Slepoy said that Sailormoon made little boys become gay (8/4/97). So the Starlights changed transformation phrase in the middle of the series, for no apparent reason. In reruns they corrected this mistake, using the second transformation phrase from the beginning.
 
In the manga, the Three Lights are also explained with having twin sisters.
 
All the Three Light's songs are sung in Italian in the series.
 
Some scenes with blood where cut from Sailor Stars.
 
Background music is the same as Japanese; opening/closing songs and songs within the series are changed to Italian ones.
 
On the Sailor Moon Italian CD: Cristalli, Petali E Misteri Per Sailor Moon, there is a drama track in Italian that contains all the original BGM and Italian dubbed dialogues of the last Sailor Stars episode (called: Sailor Moon e il Trionfo delle stelle [The Triumph of the Stars]).
This drama was included because at first the Italian TV channel that has Sailor Moon didn't want to show the last episode because of Usagi's nudity. In the end, they changes their minds and broadcasted a heavily edited version. In the last episode, the original Sailor Star Song is sung in Italian.
